Deep in the Manigotagan, “The Hotel” was once a gathering place in the early 20s, 30s and 40s to a silver mining community. The hotel burned down in a fire and the only thing that survived, was the heart of the hotel the “fireplace”. Over the years the fireplace weathered many storms and still stands majestic in the middle of the forest. When you feel lost, the warmth of a fire reminds us that there is a safe and welcoming place we can return to. The painting illuminates our beautiful Manitoba; a rich place filled with stories and history, just waiting to be discovered.
